A BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR CLUB
Welcome to Templepatrick Alexandra Youth Football Club. The club was founded in 1998, by Uel Jameson and David Alcorn, both of whom are now life presidents.
The club has grown hugely over the last few years, due to the effort and commitment shown by our players, and the support we have had from our coaches, committee and parents.
We now run an under 12 and an under 11 team, who compete in the East Antrim Youth League, of which the club was a founder member in 1999.
We are also developing an under 9 squad, who will enter the league in 2004/5 at under 10 level.
In addition we have a soccer academy, known as "Soccer Kids", for players aged 6 and up.
The club hopes to continue its growth over the coming years, and with the dedication of all concerned, we are sure to go from strength to strength.
The club has recently affiliated with local Irish League side, Crewe United. Click here for more details of the affiliation.
Thanks for your interest in our club, if you would like to get involved, as a player, coach, sponsor or in any other way, please get in touch, by clicking on the contact us link above.
David Alcorn Life President
The club was formed in 1998, and entered an under 13 side in the Down and Connor League in season 1998/99. We remain the only youth football club operating in the Templepatrick area.
We are very grateful to the governors and principal of Templepatrick Primary School, who have granted the use of the school facilities since we were formed.
The club joined the newly formed F.G. Wilson East Antrim League in season 1999/2000, and entered an under 12 team, which became the first team to win competitive matches in the club's history.
This team then moved up to under 13 level, and the commitment of our players helped them to see out another difficult season in 2000/2001.
At the end of season 2000/2001 a decision was taken to move to a younger age group, with the intention of introducing a new under 10 team every season until we have teams operating at all levels up to under 14. In order to do this, we will obviously need more adult help and coaches. Any one interested in coming along to help, please do so.
Our under 10 side was formed in January 2001, and entered the East Antrim League in season 2001/2002. They set several new club records during the season, winning more matches than ever before in a season, smashing the individual goal scoring record, netting out first ever competitive hat trick, having our longest unbeaten run and keeping the most clean sheets.
The club then entered an under 10 team again in 2002/3, and this team reached the club's first finals, in the league plate competition, and in the Bangor International Football Festival, in another record breaking season.
In 2003/4 we entered an under 11 team and an under 12 team, while developing an under 9 team ready to enter the league in 2004/5.
Our aim, as ever, is to improve in every possible way, and in some that seem quite impossible.
